Northern Rail Launches 'Easy Card' for Customers with Learning Disabilities

Northern Rail – a joint Serco and Abellio venture - has launched the ‘Easy Card’, allowing customers with learning disabilities in West Yorkshire to travel through ticket gates and pay for their ticket once on the train.

Guidance for wheelchair users using trains

The rail industry has issued new guidance for wheelchair users when using train services. The guidance explains how best to use trains safely and the recommended methods for boarding and alighting trains when using a wheelchair. It was produced by the Rail Safety Standards Board in collaboration with ATOC, Network Rail and Department for Transport. A copy of the guidance can be downloaded by clicking the link below.
