Website Accessibility

In this section you can learn how to adapt the Disabled Persons Railcard website to meet your needs. You can:

Changing text size

The Disabled Persons Railcard website has a standard text size of around 11 pt (based on an Internet Explorer text setting of medium). You can change the size of the text on the website using your browser.

In Internet Explorer, select the 'View' menu, then 'Text Size'. Select a larger or smaller font to make the site easier for you to read.

In Firefox, select the 'View' menu, then 'Text Size'. From this menu you can increase or decrease the font size by any number of steps.

Changing colour scheme

A number of different colour schemes have been developed, each of which contain differing contrasts between the text, background colour and menu items. If you find it difficult to read or navigate the website using the standard colours, select one of the alternatives using the "Accessibility Options" at the top right of every page. You can easily switch back to the standard colours by selecting option 1.

Viewing a 'plain' version of the website

The Disabled Persons Railcard website has been developed to be easy to navigate and view with its style information turned off.

If you are using the Firefox browser, you can view a pain or 'linear' version of the website by selecting the 'View' menu, 'Page Style', then 'No Style'. You can turn the style option back on by following the same process but selecting one of the four style options available (option 1 is the default colour scheme).

Unfortunately, there is currently no easy way to disable styles using the Internet Explorer browser.
