What discounts do I get?

A Disabled Persons Railcard gives you, and one adult travelling with you, 1/3 off most adult rail fares for travel on the National Rail network.

What tickets can I get a Disabled Persons Railcard discount on?

• Anytime and Anytime Day Single and Return tickets for travel in Standard and First Class

• Off-Peak and Off-Peak Day Single and Return tickets for travel in Standard and First Class

• Super Off-Peak and Super Off-Peak Day Single and Return tickets for travel in Standard and First Class

• Advance Single tickets for travel in Standard and First Class

• 10% discount off Caledonian Sleeper Anytime fares for adults.

• London Zones 1-6 Off-Peak Day Travelcards (subject to a minimum fare of £5.30)

• Anytime Day Travelcard  when bought as part of your ticket to London from outside London Zones 1-9 (subject to a minimum fare of £15)

• Oyster Off-Peak pay as you go single fares on National Rail, London Underground and Docklands Light Railway services in London - see the Oyster pay as you go section for more details

• Oyster Off-Peak Daily price cap on National Rail, London Underground and Docklands Light Railway (DLR) services in London - see the Oyster pay as you go section for more details

• All-Line Rail Rover 7 and 14-day tickets for travel in Standard and First Class

Please note:

- Some tickets may have conditions or restrictions that will apply, such as time restrictions for return travel.

- Not every ticket type is available for every journey that you may wish to make.

- Minimum fares apply to Anytime and Off-Peak Day Travelcards at all times.

Disabled Persons Railcard discount on Oyster pay as you go in London

Disabled Persons Railcard holders can register their Railcard discount onto their Oyster card to get the following discounts: 

• 1/3 off Oyster Off-Peak pay as you go single fares on National Rail, London Underground and Docklands Light Railway services

• 1/3 off Oyster Off-Peak Daily price cap on National Rail, London Underground and Docklands Light Railway services

Railcard discounts can be registered on an Oyster card at any London Underground ticket office or at a National Rail ticket office that issues Oyster cards. These discounts are for the Disabled Persons Railcard holder only.

As a special concession, one accompanying adult or child is allowed to buy the £3.00 Child Off-Peak Day Travelcard and must accompany the Railcard holder throughout the journey.

When both the Disabled Persons Railcard holder and the accompanying person are using cash tickets, then the Railcard discount applies to the Off-Peak Day Travelcard (Zones 1-6) only.

What tickets can’t I get a Railcard discount on?

Disabled Persons Railcard discounts don't apply to:

• Season tickets (of any length), including Travelcard Season tickets

• Eurostar tickets

• Some Train Company specific promotional offers

• Tickets for special excursions or Charter trains and some coach/bus links, including Railair services

• Most London Underground and DLR tickets

Other discounts for people with disabilities
