Try the train at Southampton Central Station - 22 June 2010

Try the Train is an opportunity for people with disabilities and people who care for people with disabilities to come along and find out what train travel on South West Trains is all about.

Try the Train aims to introduce train travel to those who have not used the train before and to highlight the accessibility of train travel for groups including disabled and older people, wheelchair users, people with visual or hearing impairments and those with learning difficulties.

It will also provide a forum for those who regularly use accessible public transport to discuss their experiences with South West Trains. The event will provide information about rail travel, specific rail journeys, information about getting assistance during journeys and an opportunity to experience train travel first hand. The event is open to individuals, carers and local groups and sessions are timed to run throughout the day.
