Halloween is not just about trick or treating. Leave the candy for later, and instead jump on a train and visit one of these locations for a fang-tabulous time.

  1. Muncaster Castle, West Cumbria

Take your family to one of Britain’s most haunted locations. There’s nothing boring about this place; there are activities designed for the whole family from face painting to craft making workshops. Fire-eaters and aerialists will make your stay even more spooktacular.

Fancy dress is a must (and maybe a torch for when it gets scarily darker…).

Dare you enter?

Nearest Station: Ravenglass

  1. City of the Dead, Edinburgh

This place is ’creepin’ it real since 1999. With the famous Haunted Graveyard, Underground City of the Dead and Double Dead Walking Tours, which are filled with terrifying history. One thing is certain; you’ll enjoy the fear.

The old vaults – home of the alleged South Bridge Entity - are what make this fascinating tour worth-while. Thrill seekers you will not be disappointed.

So jump on a train to Edinburgh and enjoy a Halloween to remember.

Sadly, this one is not suitable for under 12s.

Nearest Station: Edinburgh Waverley

These are only two of the great adventures you can enjoy this Halloween. Get inspried and get out there. On a train of course, it's why you got yourself a Railcard.
